What is your favorite subject? Reading

What is your best memory from elementary school? In 5th grade I won a reading contest by reading the most books in one month. I won a $25.00 gift certificate to my local book store to get any books I wanted!!!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? a stewardess – but then I realized I am a horrible flier as I get “air sick”!

What college did you go to? University of Maryland, College Park

What is your favorite children’s book or chapter book? children’s book: Duck on a Bike, chapter books: Margaret Peterson Haddix series “Among the Hidden”

What is your favorite website? I like to play Webkinz with my kids!

What is your favorite color? to wear: black, every day: turquoise

What is your favorite candy or sweet treat? PEZ and cotton candy

Teacher Feature #3: Mrs. Baker (K-5 Technology)

What is your favorite subject? technology!! OK – science

What is your best memory from elementary school? One of my favorite memories in elementary school came from being involved in the media center. Because I was a media helper captain (of course!) I got to be the anchor of our TV news show – WRBE. It’s hard to believe by 30 yeas ago having an elementary TV news show was big stuff! I guess I was destined to be involved in school technology!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A media teacher (crazy, huh!). Now, I want to be an astronaut when I grow up.

What college did you go to? Towson State University – twice. For my elementary education degree and my instructional technology Master’s.

What is your favorite children’s book or chapter book? My favorite book for most of my life was The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. A new favorite is The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
